Carl Dreyer's Vampyr

Cine al aire libre: Magia y maleficio de lo imaginario (I)

This fantasy film underpinned by supernatural and magical elements was the last silent film shot by Carl Dreyer—the little dialogue it contains was added later on—and tells the story of Allan Gray, a student of demonology and vampire lore, from the time of his arrival in a strange town with all sorts of inexplicable goings-on. Straddling the boundary between hallucination and fantasy, between vampirism and dreams, it immerses us in a universe bathed in soft, silky light, where shadows stray from their owners and the impossible conquers the real.  The film was selected for this series by Carlos F. Heredero.
