Naturalmente Flamenco

The Veranos de la Villa Festival’s commitment to dance is renewed yet again this year, with the Central Courtyard of the Condeduque Cultural Centre as its main venue. In this 40th anniversary edition of the festival, flamenco is represented by the company of Úrsula López, the former director of the Andalusian Flamenco Ballet, which will be performing her show Naturally Flamenco, a production that is also a sincere and genuine way of presenting this art form, which has been included in the Heritage of Humanity by Unesco.

The show is the result of a combination of illusion, knowledge and the outstanding sensitivity of the company’s cast of professionals who feel an authentic passion for flamenco and have so much to say about this art. With the collaboration of choreographer Rubén Olmo - former director of the Andalusian Flamenco Ballet, winner of the National Dance Award and director of the National Dance Ballet since 2019 - and López’s artistic direction, this activity clearly illustrates the ongoing creative process at work in the land that gave birth to flamenco as we know it today.

The seven numbers that make up Naturally Flamenco, include a wide variety of styles or palos from its repertoire, all elegantly rendered in a choreographic work that demonstrates just how - at this point in time - flamenco is part of nature and of life itself, with no more constraints other than the discipline that should teach its creators to simply be natural.
